Tree of Life
Tree System
Public Space
Black Rock City, Nevada, USA. 2022
Project Overview
Tree of Life is a vertical sculptural light installation developed as a spatial landmark within a hospitality environment.
Conceived to reinforce the architectural height and central axis of the space, the piece expands upward through a branching luminous structure — organizing volume through rhythm, elevation, and structural light articulation.
Rather than referencing a literal tree, the installation abstracts growth into a constructive system.
System
Tree — Growth
Custom adaptation of the Tree System, engineered to respond to the vertical proportions and structural constraints of the project.
Concept
The installation explores vertical expansion as a spatial strategy.
Through a branching logic, light becomes structure — extending upward and outward while maintaining permeability and transparency.
The piece establishes a central presence without enclosing space, allowing circulation and sightlines to remain fluid.
Structure
Iron tubular framework
Modular node connections
Integrated LED system
Structurally anchored to the ground
Engineered for scalable branching at different heights and diameters.
Technical Data
Typology: Vertical suspended sculptural installation
Dimensions: 13x4x4m
Total Height: 13m
Weight: 1.5Tn
Light Temperature: Digital LED strip on Silicon Case (IP67)
Installation Method: Ground anchors
Spatial Integration
Positioned within a double-height volume, the installation enhances vertical perception and reinforces the architectural axis.
Its branching configuration distributes light rhythmically, creating a luminous canopy that animates the surrounding space without overpowering it.
As guests move through the environment, the structure reveals layered depth and shifting perspectives.
