Threshold Pavilion
Hospitality
Go With the Wind Art Centre — Granada, Spain
Project Overview
Threshold Pavilion is a transitable luminous structure conceived as a spatial landmark within the architectural landscape.
Positioned at the heart of the arrival sequence, the pavilion operates as a transitional chamber — mediating movement between exterior and interior, openness and enclosure, passage and pause.
Rather than functioning as a decorative object, it establishes a defined spatial condition: a place of orientation, convergence, and perceptual shift.
Concept
Developed from a polyhedral geometric logic, the pavilion explores structure as a gateway condition.
Its dodecahedral framework generates a contained yet permeable volume — a luminous chamber where geometry, light, and proportion converge.
The structure marks a moment of transition within the architectural narrative:
a point where space compresses, reorganizes, and opens again.
Light is not applied to the form;
it is embedded within the geometry, reinforcing depth and spatial clarity.
Structure
Polyhedral steel framework
Modular system
4 leaves door with counterweight
Integrated LED illumination
Outdoor-rated structural anchoring
Engineered as a walkable, habitable pavilion designed.
Technical Data
Typology: Transitable sculptural pavilion
Geometry: Dodecahedral structural configuration
Installation: Outdoor, free-standing
Dimensions: 4,5x4,5x4,5m
Height: 4,5m
Materials: Steel + glass + integrated lighting system
Lighting Temperature: 2700ºK
Spatial Integration
The pavilion functions as a spatial threshold within the hospitality environment — an architectural moment that anchors the lobby entrance or landscape approach.
Its geometric clarity contrasts with surrounding materials while maintaining visual permeability, allowing light, air, and sightlines to flow through the structure.
By day, the form reads as a sculptural landmark.
By night, it transforms into a luminous chamber — establishing identity and atmosphere.
